Ranjit Ganguly, Co Host of the event, in his remarks, candidly pointed out that the election victory of Debra Silverstein has been made possible by the majority of South Asian voters who came out in overwhelmling numbers to elect Debra. Ranjit Ganguly explained in detail as to how the voting power of the south Asians especially Indian Americans have played a critical role in helping Debra Silverstein cross the finish line in the recent April run off elections.
Debra Silverstein thanked the host committee including Ranjit Ganguly and Keerthi Ravoori for hosting the reception in her honor. Debra Silverstein said she is actively working to address the infrastructural problems that ails the ward and said she has already proactively embarked on resurfacing the alleys. Debra Silverstein pledged that she is deeply committed to transparency and open door policy and invited constituents and community/business leaders to bring every issue and problem to her attention so that she can promptly and effectively address them. Debra Silverstein pledged to invite few business and community leaders to join her on the table to help her formulate plans and policies to bring about necessary improvements to the business district.
