While incumbents prevailed in most town races Tuesday, some races were too close to call, according to unofficial results.
George Wargo Jr. finished first in the highly contested race to become the next superintendent of highways.
In Clarkstown, Supervisor Alexander Gromack secured his fifth two year term.
In Haverstraw, Democratic Supervisor Howard Phillips and his running matesall emerged victorious Tuesday.
Two seats were up for election on the Town Board, and Republican incumbents Thomas Diviny and Denis Troy successfully ran for re election. Democrats Daniel Salmon and Annmarie Uhl also ran for the Town Board.
Town Justice Rhoda Schoenberger and Superintendent of Highways Anthony Sharan successfully ran for re election.
